A.SHIMUS creates modern workwear designed specifically for petite women. Fit and proportion are considered from the very beginning, so each piece feels balanced, intentional, and easy to wear… without the need for adjustments.

Our work is shaped by Japanese craftsmanship and a deep respect for how clothing is made. We collaborate closely with skilled artisans and small manufacturers in Japan, working carefully through fabric selection, tailoring, and construction. The result is clothing defined by quality, restraint, and attention to detail, rather than trend.

We design workwear to be practical and versatile. Clean silhouettes, thoughtful tailoring, and pieces that move comfortably through the day, from meetings and travel to everything that follows.

At its heart, A.SHIMUS exists to make getting dressed easier for women building their careers. By focusing on fit, craftsmanship, and purpose, we create garments designed to feel reliable, considered, and quietly confident - just like the women who wear them.

A Note from the Founder

A.SHIMUS was born from personal experience. As a petite woman working in professional environments, I spent years searching for clothing that felt appropriate, confident, and truly well-fitting, without needing alterations. Too often, workwear designed for smaller frames was an afterthought, forcing women to adjust themselves to the clothing rather than the other way around.

I started A.SHIMUS to change that.

From the beginning, my goal was to design garments specifically for petite women in business; pieces that feel intentional, balanced, and empowering. Fit is never secondary here, it’s the foundation. Every pattern, proportion, and detail is designed with care, so our clothing supports how women move, work, and show up each day.

Japanese craftsmanship has long inspired me for its respect for process, precision, and longevity. By partnering with skilled artisans and manufacturers in Japan, A.SHIMUS honors this tradition, creating clothing that is thoughtfully made, responsibly produced, and designed to endure beyond seasons.

A.SHIMUS is deeply personal, but it is built for a community. It exists to support women who are building careers, leading teams, and defining success on their own terms. My hope is that when you wear A.SHIMUS, you feel confident, capable, and entirely yourself.

JApanese Starndard Sizing

To perfect the silhouettes of our garments, they’re developed according to Japanese sizing, known for its precise tailoring and alignment with smaller frames.

More specifically, our size S corresponds to a Japanese 9AR, a carefully chosen reference that reflects the proportions of petite women.

While certain measurements – such as sleeve length and bust –
are slightly more compact than the standard US sizing,
A.SHIMUS garments are thoughtfully designed to enhance and flatter.

Additionally, most of our bottoms feature adjustable waistbands for added comfort.
